There are three (3) you may come across.

Brown Widow

Related to its cousin, the “Black Widow”, but is not quite as toxic. It is bedecked in tan and brown mottled coloration with an orange hourglass on the abdomen.

The most typical reaction caused by verified bites are typically followed by a small red welt.

They live under wood, potted plants, and in debris.

Woodhouse Spider

This spider is distinctive in its coloration with a dark cinnamon colored body varying from gray to tan.

The bite is rather benign to humans, but some pain, which is usually gone within an hour.

You will not normally encounter this spider.

Cellar Spider

These are the creatures that create all those cobwebs in corners by windows.

Vacuuming the webs on a regular basis and in particular the obvious egg sacks, is a viable control option.

These spiders cause no appreciable damage, but they do make aesthetically unsightly webs.
